Antonio Amati, Deputy CEO of the IT Division, was interviewed yesterday during the plenary session that opened CyberSec2025, Italy’s premier annual cybersecurity event, organized by Cybersecurity Italia and held in the Representative Halls of the "Salvo D'Acquisto" Carabinieri Barracks.
“We produce approximately 100,000 lines of code per day and manage just as many in complex environments, often within some of the country’s most critical structures. The first challenge is to make these environments secure, as required by industry regulations, by equipping ourselves with compliance tools to govern them.”
“This is sensitive data, such as health records and financial and banking information, so it’s a significant challenge. At the same time, however, it’s also an opportunity for development,” Amati said.
“Various investments have been made to meet our clients’ needs.
We’ve focused on all emerging technologies, starting with blockchain five or six years ago, and developed our own platform to manage digital identities in a decentralized way. We launched and made available a platform for encryption based on post-quantum cryptography for data protection. Regarding AI,” continued Amati, “we introduced our own platform at the same time as the release of DeepSeek, a significant investment that provides an Italian solution and a response to security risks and applications.
This means having readily available resources, with hundreds of engineers working on critical issues. Thus, we can confidently say that our expertise is on par with, if not superior to, our European competitors."
Almaviva is a Main Partner of this invitation-only two-day event, a unique opportunity for industry experts to exchange insights, anticipate future challenges, and develop innovative strategies for a safer and more interconnected world.
Our experts are also participating in two working groups focused on some of today’s most pressing challenges: CISO Roger Cataldi will serve as an ambassador, speaking in the discussion on “Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity”, while Glauco Ciprari, from Digital Compliance & Advisory, will present the company’s perspective in the session dedicated to “Post-Quantum Encryption and the Future of Data Protection”.
