The innovative IT and data science degree course in Information Technology for data management, partnered by AlmavivA, is just beginning at the LUMSA University in Rome.
The three-year course - the only one of its kind in Italy - will train professionals with a high level of technical skill who are capable of working in businesses and startups, public administrations and Italian, European and International organizations.
Categorized as a vocational degree course, it is split into two years of training at the university and a third year spent entirely on a work placement. Each year a maximum of 55 students, selected through a motivational interview and an entrance test, will be accepted onto the course.
The three-year academic training course, developed in agreement with the Consiglio Nazionale dei Periti Industriali (CNPI; the Italian National Council of Industrial Engineers), is aimed at training the following professionals:
- Data processing and analysis expert (Data analyst/Data scientist)
- Software analyst
- Systems analyst
- Computer networks specialist
- IT consultant, with specific skills relating to the IoT (Internet of Things) and Industry 4.0
- Cyber security expert
- Consultant for the design, creation and reporting of data analysis, with specific skills in Big Data analysis
- IT systems manager
- Industrial policies analyst
