Water is a resource that must be protected, optimized, and cherished. Managing it effectively means ensuring a safer and more sustainable future for all. Tomorrow is World Water Day 2025, an opportunity to reflect on the importance of sustainably managing our planet’s most precious resource. Water represents life, innovation, and progress. That is why targeted investments and advanced technologies are essential to ensuring its quality and availability for all, bringing Italy closer to the standards of the most advanced European countries in the sector.
Almaviva and Almaviva Bluebit, along with Almawave, Sister, MEA Engineering, and Tecnau, all companies of the Almaviva Group, are leading the way in this transformation, providing advanced tools for digitalizing the network and innovative technologies as the key to more efficient and sustainable water management.
During the concluding forum of the 6th edition of Community Valore Acqua per l’Italia, a platform launched by The European House-Ambrosetti to discuss water resource management as a driver of competitiveness and sustainable industrial development in Italy, Deputy CEO Antonio Amati emphasized that: “Almaviva, through its group companies, provides an end-to-end process for water utilities by combining highly specialized expertise in hydraulic engineering with deep and consolidated know-how in IT engineering, thus establishing a shared language and functional synergies across various sectors within the organization. Our integrated and holistic approach to water resource management combines satellite observation with field sensors, ensuring a continuous flow of data acquisition and integration.”
Franco Masenello, CEO of Almaviva Bluebit, added: "For water management companies, it’s crucial to receive adequate service support in order to cope with the damage caused by the increasing frequency of droughts and number of extreme rainfall events, which directly impact the operational activities of water utilities and reclamation consortia. We in the Almaviva Group are fully aware of our ability to support operators in preventing the consequences of extreme weather events."
The event, held in Rome’s Acquario Romano and organized by The European House-Ambrosetti in collaboration with Utilitalia and Utilitatis, addressed the challenges of water management in the context of climate change and digital transition and served as an opportunity to present the Valore Acqua per l’Italia White Paper and the 2025 Blue Book.
Masenello concluded: “The Smart Water Management System platform for data management and integration enables real-time monitoring and analysis, the development of Digital Twins, preventive maintenance planning for networks, and decision-making support. Additionally, with the new feature that allows for the creation of ‘What-If’ scenarios, it’s now possible to simulate the impact of extreme weather events on the network and thus prevent crisis situations.”
