“AGRIDATAVALUE”: Excellent Results for the European Research Project’s First Mid-Term Review

10-12-2024

The first project review of the European research project “AGRIDATAVALUE - Smart Farm and Agri-environmental Big Data Space” (Call HORIZON-CL6-2022-GOVERNANCE-01-11) took place in Athens at the end of November. Partners of the project, European Union officials, and the project officer and reviewer, Prof. Pablo Zarco-Tejada, an expert from the Universidad de Valladolid, JRC and CSIC, were in attendance. Olango Temesgen Magule, Sergio Sestili, Gabriele Del Monte, and Edoardo Gambaro participated on behalf of Almaviva.

The European Commissioners expressed strong appreciation for the results achieved in the first 18 months of the project's activity, praising not only the quality of the work carried out, but also Synelixis’s effective coordination of the project. The results position AGRIDATAVALUE as a true game changer in the field of smart agriculture and environmental sustainability.

Within AGRIDATAVALUE, Almaviva stands out for its contribution to the projection of climate impact indicators, a crucial activity for understanding how agricultural practices can be optimized to address challenges related to climate change and biodiversity. Furthermore, Almaviva is involved in the creation of a secure network for the traceability of processes, models, and data through Blockchain, a technology that, in addition to improving transparency, fosters greater trust between the agricultural sector’s various stakeholders.
