When it comes to artificial intelligence, “we must not be pessimistic. Regulations won’t eliminate all risks, so it depends on how people choose to use it,” said Alberto Tripi, Special Advisor on AI for Confindustria and President of the Almaviva Group, speaking yesterday at the symposium organized by Fondazione Roma entitled “Artificial Intelligence vs. Human Intelligence: Is a Balance Possible?”.
“The only way forward today is that of developing augmented intelligence, as I like to call it. A growth trajectory in which the synergy between human thought and computational power amplifies people's decision-making and operational capabilities.”
“We must also remember that AI can foster social inclusion by making education and healthcare services more accessible. For Italy, the real risk isn’t adopting AI, but rather falling behind. While the market is currently dominated by the United States and China, it’s still far from mature and offers significant opportunities, even in traditional sectors, that we must seize.”
Almawave, a company within the Almaviva Group, recently presented Velvet, a family of cutting-edge artificial intelligence models, designed and developed entirely in Italy. Multilingual, open-source, and built on CINECA infrastructure, it leverages the latest machine learning technologies and techniques.
