The World Expo, set to take place on the artificial island of Yumeshima in Osaka, officially opened its doors yesterday. The inauguration was attended by Italy’s Deputy Prime Minister and ​Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation,Antonio Tajani; the Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, Ambassador Mario Vattani; and H.E. Monsignor Rino Fisichella, Pro-Prefect for Evangelization and Commissioner General of the Holy See for Expo 2025 Osaka.

Following the ribbon cutting, an official visit to the Pavilion with Commissioner General Vattani and Architect Mario Cucinella took place. The “Asia-Pacific Focus” of the Export Action Plan was presented and Caravaggio’s “The Deposition”, on loan from the Vatican Museums, was unveiled. Gianfranco Previtera, International Markets Director, was present on behalf of Almaviva.
