I am pleased to present the third edition of our Sustainability Report, a document that reflects our commitment to sustainable and responsible growth, in line with the values that have always defined us as a global company and a leader in the digital transformation of Italy’s businesses and public administrations. In a time when technology plays a crucial role in shaping the future, we firmly believe that it is equally important to integrate sound and advanced environmental, social, and governance practices into our daily operations in an effort to have a positive impact on people, organizations, and society as a whole.
In over 40 years, Almaviva has grown into a business that, today, benefits from the contributions of over 40,000 people worldwide; a solid enterprise, based on Italian technological expertise, now recognized internationally, while remaining deeply connected to Italy’s cultural and industrial values. Every day, we work to develop innovative solutions that combine the quality of Italian “know-how” with global execution capabilities to meet the expectations of both local and international clients.
Given the purely entrepreneurial nature of the Group, we are deeply committed to maintaining a medium- and long-term vision, allowing us to take a more flexible and proactive approach and make quick and well-considered decisions. In this context, we are building a future in which sustainability is not just a guiding principle, but a source of value, opportunity, and innovation, integrating ESG parameters not only in the products and services we put on the market, but our business operations as well, to ensure a responsible digital transition.
This year, we have once again turned our approach into tangible results across various levels within the Group.
In terms of the environment, the share of renewable energy to cover our needs is progressively increasing, from 50% in previous years to nearly 100% in 2024. Additionally, thanks to the development of the become project, the heart of the Group’s people strategy, and with the support of a hybrid smart working model, we continue to reduce the commute for our employees, with positive repercussions on local services and ecosystems. We have completed the migration to sustainable cloud infrastructures, strengthening an Environmental and Energy Management System (SGASGE) certified for sustainability (ISO 14001) and energy management (ISO 50001), which has been in place within the Group for over 10 years.
From a governance perspective, 33% of the Board of Directors is now made up of women, a percentage that rises to 43% when taking into account the Boards of Directors of all the Group’s companies. Within these Boards of Directors, we focused on raising awareness regarding ESG topics through dedicated training programs. These areas were further strengthened by the introduction of sustainability criteria in the remuneration policies for top management.
Across the Board, our commitment is also demonstrated by having obtained sector-specific certifications for social responsibility (SA8000), gender equality (UNI PdR 125:2022), occupational health and safety (ISO 45001), and diversity & inclusion (ISO 30415).
In addition to the indicators that, according to current regulations, are required for the preparation of a Sustainability Report, Almaviva Group has set a further benchmark by conducting a significant analysis of its business projects throughout 2023. The results of this initiative have revealed how Almaviva has positively contributed to the Sustainable Development Goals through its activities, thus achieving the target of its Sustainability Plan, originally set for 2025, which focused on expanding its range of innovative solutions aimed at improving ESG impacts.
We thank all our stakeholders for their trust and collaboration and invite you to read this Report as a testament to our ongoing commitment to fostering the growth of the institutions with which we work and the communities in which we operate, helping to build a more sustainable, inclusive, and responsible world.
